This Week: Trevor Boone is mixing an EP in Fastbacks Studio-B room, The Vague Prophets are mixing with Jason Lackie in the main room. Recording The Blues Healers at the end of this week.

West Valley Highway has just completed their 2nd full-length album.  a release date has not been set at this time but look for two high profile shows coming to Seattle in mid-summer 2010.

Doing a outboard gear review for Tape Op Magazine this week, testing out the Digidesign Eleven Rack.. We will be A/B’ing it against our Hiwatt 50 watt & 30 watt, Marshall JCM 800, Mesa Rectifier and a handful of low wattage amps.

Fastback Studios is offering professional recording classes that will teach and involve you on how to record. You will have hands on training in a commercial recording studio that will help you become an experienced and knowledgeable engineer and producer.

The recording classes are once a week for 10 weeks, starting Tuesday Jan.26th 2010. Classes will consist of 5 students with text book and 2 teachers.

Program of study will include: Pro-Tools usage, how to record, edit & mix, monitor placement, room acoustics, analog mic-pre’s, compressors, EQ’s, interfaces, plug-ins, MIDI, microphones and mic-placement, knowledge of instrument’s, business of recording, actual recording of class project.. And much more! Classes start Jan.26th 2010,
