Fulltone 69′ Fuzz Pedal

Friday, April 25th, 2008

I am a big believer in well crafted guitar and tube amplifiers and a instrument cable connecting those two bridges together. As for effect pedals, in my thinking they either take a back seat or I often rally not to put them in the chain because most pedals I see are either a box of unusable metal or the pedal detracts from what the amp is fashioned to do. Yes, effects are important but I personally like to see them in post production where you can really dial them in to the mix without them being a distracting tone due to quality, hiss, low battery or the artist never understood what the pedal they purchased can do.

So with that said, please take your time and review & save for a pedal that will stand the test of time in both craftsmanship (less likely to break down) & quality ( true bypass low to no hiss factor). An effect pedal is one of those things in life that you truly get what you pay for! Good / great pedals most often start at the $175.00 range.. It is money well spent. I do have a few favorite brands and 98% will not be found in any big box guitar stores.

The Fulltone 69′ is one of those great pedals that offers more than just fuzz. This pedal has bias knob that I often use on low wattage amps to get that “hot tube” sound. Now Fulltone discontinued this pedal because of this statement on their site: This pedal has been discontinued due to the unavailability of decent sounding transistors. Nobody’s making them anymore. If I find a good batch, I’ll build more, if not, have fun with the used ones, I had fun making them for 15 years so there are plenty out there.. That statement says to me that Michael Fuller cares and stands behind the product he builds.
