Benefit show for Hans Ispen - Highway 99

Friday, November 30th, 2007

The Bill Mattocks Band is the host band for the benefit jam for Hans Ispen this coming Sunday evening. The event will be held at the Highway99 Blues club in Seattle. The hours are 6PM to 11PM. Hans was a long time guitarist with Little Bill and the Blue Notes, also a member of the band Fatcat. I’m also proud to say Hans is a lifelong friend of mine since our time together in Junior High. He is a Washington Blues Society award recipient for Best Electric Guitar. He has recently had some serious medical problems and of course along with all that comes pricey medical bills. So please come on out and enjoy some really good Blues on Sunday evening, bring your axe or your voice and a few bucks and help out a really great musician. As I said, we will kick off the night with a short set of music with a ton of special guests up on stage with us. The open jam will continue until 11PM. The great Randy Oxford will be the nights emcee. And if you don’t play come on out anyway for a great evening of entertainment for a really good cause.

Blues session with Christina Porter

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Well, this week we had the opportunity to record some fun music.. We did all cover tunes like Van Morrison, Joe Cocker and others but what made this session so fun is was the players who took part in Christina Porter’s album. From start to finish, we all had a blast because the players just enjoyed each others time & talent. Christina really made my day, she surprised me with a little B-day celebration.. This session was a great 39th birthday present.

Mon-Marie

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Universal development artist, Mon-Marie is in studio recording their freshman project. Using some our vintage gear with their Fender amps & guitars is working out very well. We move onto vocals this week. After all the work is said & done it will be sent off to Universal records so the suits can use their colored charts to see if we will like it.. Let me just say upfront before it is released, Yes you will like it.
